Let Me (Re)Introduce Myself

Ten Years, Sixteen Books, and a Renewed Purpose

Hello, friends—old, new, and those who’ve wandered in by chance. It’s been a while. Ten years, to be exact. Today, I’m pulling back the curtain and reintroducing myself not just as a writer, but as someone reshaped by everything the last decade demanded, destroyed, and rebuilt.

Where I’ve Been

Life swept me into a storm of change, loss, and unexpected growth. In ten years, I’ve said goodbye to both my parents, three grandparents, an aunt, an uncle, and a close friend. Losing my mum during COVID‑19 was the breaking point. My support system vanished overnight, and isolation forced me inward.

There were days I sat in the tub for hours, staring at a blank wall, thinking about nothing at all. I moved through tasks with hyper‑focus and simplicity, almost mechanical. Looking back, I think I dissociated for two years—only resurfacing in mid‑2024.

Each loss chipped away at the life I knew, but it also carved out a new kind of strength. Grief taught me patience, resilience, and the quiet power of memory. Those lessons now live in my writing.

Growing in the Midst of Challenges

During all of this, I was navigating life as a single parent, an experience equal parts exhausting and transformative. While juggling home and heart, I pushed forward professionally. I earned two designations, one as the top student in the country. Those achievements became stepping stones into new opportunities: teaching the designation, advancing my career, and proving to myself that even in the darkest seasons, I could still rise.

The Joy of Parenthood

One of my proudest moments has been watching my child prepare to graduate. It feels like the culmination of every late night, every sacrifice, every moment of choosing hope. Parenthood has added layers to my voice—depth, tenderness, grit—and I hope that richness shows up in every page I write.

Finding My Way Back to Writing

Through all the twists and upheavals, the desire to write never disappeared. It simply waited.

Oddly enough, Wattpad was the spark that brought me back. I was invited into the Creator’s Program, partly because I’d never taken my stories down. They weren’t wildly popular, but they had a loyal following. That loyalty reminded me why I started writing in the first place.

The Creator’s Program gave me structure: 1,500 words a month. Manageable. Encouraging. Once writing became a habit again, I surpassed every goal. And every time I hit one, I raised the bar, turning progress into momentum.

Now, I’m ready to rededicate myself to the craft. My first step is re‑editing Fate’s Exchange, the debut story in my Twisted Fate series. With everything I’ve learned over the past decade, I’m bringing new depth, honesty, and emotional resonance to its pages—something that reflects not just who I was, but who I’ve become.

A Glimpse Into the Future

This is only the beginning. I have sixteen books altogether, including ten brand‑new stories I’ve never shared with anyone. They’re shaped by laughter, loss, triumph, and the everyday moments that make us human. They’re raw, authentic, and deeply personal.

Whether you’re discovering my work for the first time or returning after years, I’m grateful you’re here. Let’s rediscover the magic of storytelling together.

Thank you for welcoming me back. Here’s to new beginnings, old friends, and the words still waiting to be written. Let’s make the next ten years unforgettable.

Cheers,

Sasha Leigh
